Starting in geology, sedimentology and added some geochemistry, my professional skills later on moved to communication, public relations and finally to information sciences.

The digital age gives scientists new and fascinating tools for their work, regarding knowledge exchange and data management for instance. On the other hand information providers, e.g. libraries, data centers and also scientific communities, have to deal with a couple of new and upcoming challenges. Open access, digital longterm preservation and linked open data are only a few topics related to the new technolgies.
